Barbara Tarnawski is a registered architect with 20 years experience in the building industry.

She has recently relocated her business into the Hawkesbury Chambers at Windsor.

Barbara has considerable experience in all areas of architecture including multi-storey apartment buildings, commercial developments, new homes and renovations.

She loves residential and is interested in energy efficient design.

Barbara is a member of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects and member of Archicentre. She has had a number of projects featured in the Domain section of the Sun-Herald .

Many people do not know what services an Architect can provide, an Architect has the training to provide a comprehensive service with an eye for detail.

Following is a brief list of the services that an Architect can provide:

1. Concept Design

This stage looks at the potential of a site for development, or the potential of a building for renovation. A site analysis is undertaken and sketch plans are provided once the brief and budget is established.

2. Design Development

The concept design is further developed in preparation for a Development Application. Selection of materials and construction methods are determined at this stage.

3. Contract Documentation

This stage is the most important stage as it will determine that the building will be constructed to the Clients' requirements and to the standards expected by the Local Building Authority.

This stage includes the preparation of working drawings, a specification and co-ordination of consultants.

4. Contract Administration

This stage is an important stage.

The Architect administers the contract between the owner and the builder, ensuring that the project will run on schedule and within budget (subject to variations).
